Trauma & relational therapy.

Trauma-informed, attachment-based therapy for adults experiencing relationship difficulties or PTSD.

Trauma therapy.

Many people who seek therapy have experienced overwhelming or distressing events, either recently or earlier in life. Trauma can arise from a single incident, such as an accident or assault, or from repeated experiences over time, including difficult childhood relationships, emotional neglect, bullying, abuse, or ongoing instability.

Trauma can affect people in different ways. Some people experience symptoms associated with PTSD, such as flashbacks, nightmares, hypervigilance, or feeling constantly on edge. Others may notice difficulties with emotions, self-esteem, trust, or relationships, without necessarily identifying their experiences as trauma-related.

I support adults experiencing a range of trauma-related difficulties, including:

  • PTSD and complex trauma

  • anxiety and panic

  • emotional overwhelm

  • shame and self-criticism

  • relationship and attachment difficulties

  • dissociation

  • low self-worth

  • patterns of people-pleasing

My approach is tailored to each individual. Depending on your needs, therapy may involve trauma-focused approaches such as EMDR, alongside approaches that explore the longer-term impact of experiences on emotions, beliefs, relationships, and sense of self.

Relational therapy.

Our early relationships shape how we understand ourselves, relate to others, and manage emotions. Sometimes people notice recurring patterns in relationships that leave them feeling hurt, anxious, disconnected, or insecure.

You may find yourself:

  • struggling with closeness or trust

  • fearing rejection or abandonment

  • becoming caught in repeated relationship patterns

  • feeling overly responsible for others

  • experiencing intense emotional reactions in relationships

  • finding it difficult to express needs or boundaries

These patterns often develop for understandable reasons and can be linked to earlier experiences, attachment relationships, or ways of coping that once felt necessary.

Relational therapy provides a space to understand these patterns with curiosity and compassion. Together, we will explore how past experiences may continue to influence your emotional world, relationships, and sense of self in the present.

I draw on relational and psychodynamic approaches, including Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT), attachment-informed work, and parts-based approaches, to help clients develop greater self-understanding, emotional awareness, and more fulfilling relationships.
